FOLKIES:
The
Limeliters
- The official website for the fabulous folk group
that launched their career in 1959 at San Francisco's famous
"Hungry I" and went on to became a dominant force of the early
'60s folk music scene. The group's current line-up is Andy Corwin, Mack
Bailey, and newest member Gaylan Taylor, with original member Alex
Hassilev still making occasional appearances with the group.
Phil Ochs
- A passionate and prolific singer/songwriter of protest songs in the
60's.
Peter, Paul & Mary
- The official website of an all-time favorite of mine. And, yes, they are still
performing. Go see them. They're wonderful!
Joan Baez
- The official website. Another long-time personal favorite.
Pete Seeger
Appreciation Page
- Great fan site for this folk music legend.
Arlo Guthrie
- "ArloNet" - the official website of this legendary artist. (Don't miss the
opportunity to see him live. He's fantastic!) Lots of cool stuff, including tablature.
The Waybacks
- The Waybacks describe their music as "acoustic mayhem." Their eclectic sound
has elements of bluegrass, country, folk, jazz and blues, with a touch
of humor and heaps of jaw-dropping musicianship. Check out sound samples at
their website, and see them live if you get a chance. (While you're at it, check
out the website for their rhythm & fingerstyle guitarist & vocalist,
Stevie Coyle.)
Kristina Olsen
- A wonderful singer/songwriter with a beautiful, rich voice, and vivid
songs full of truth, personal observation, sensuality and emotion.
Holly Near
- The official website. A very talented singer/songwriter who has been a great inspiration
to me.

The Prince
Myshkins

Andy Gricevich perform funny, thought-provoking, satirical political songs,
packed with rhymes & references. You can check out some free MP3s at their
website. See them live if you get the chance.
Henry Phillips
- One of my favorite comedy musicians. Check out his albums, and go see him live if
you can. "His arsenal of catchy guitar tunes, deadpan delivery, and rapier wit
annihilates relationships, political correctness, pop culture, and the news."
Susan Karlin, Los Angeles Times
John Forster
- Another comedy musician who I like a lot, and one of Tom Lehrer's current favorites.
Throwing Toasters
- A very fun comedy rock group getting lots of airplay on the Doctor Demento show, fronted by
Grant Baciocco.
