Covering a color tattoo with a black tattoo?

When I was a lot younger (and a lot dumber) I got a tattoo from an unlicensed artist on my hip and upper thigh (some stars and a moon). The moon and stars are in a really dark blue (almost black) but there is shadowing in between the stars in various colors (red, green, orange, yellow, etc). I want to get another tattoo on top of that one in complete black. Will the color be completely covered and will you still be able to see the outline of the first tattoo?

When you go to the tattoo parlour your artist can suggest several designs that you will need to approve before they do anything.My ex had a friend tottoo a rose on her ankle when she was 16.I helped pay for the tattoo she got to cover the rose.It covered half her calf and was a peacock with its tail spread.You dont need to cover with just black.Go for an intricate design with lots of color.They can do almost anything today.
